I first heard of slow photography during a conference earlier this year. I had been practicing this photographic style but did not know it was an actual movement.
Slow photography allows you to slow down and focus on the small details sometimes creating abstract images. By slowing down, you are able to appreciate the details of what you are trying to capture and think of your process through. There are times when a landscape shot is not possible but we can still capture the essence of the moment by focusing on that which first captured our attention and made us stop.
I use different techniques to achieve different effects from reverse free lensing, intentional camera movement, or just focusing on specific details rather than the whole landscape.
