Atchafalaya Basin
This collection explores the relationship between the ancient Cypress trees and the birds that inhabit this land. Through this images, I hope to transport viewers to the depths and stillness of the Louisiana Atchafalaya Bayou. Capturing the quiet and enduring presence of these ancient trees and the birds that call these wetlands home.
Through light, scale, fog, and a long lens, I focus on the bayou's ancient and ethereal beauty and the vibrant, active birdlife. My goal is to invite the viewer to look more closely at this often-overlooked ecosystem and to instill in them a desire to protect this land.
Look closely at each image, sometimes the birds are well hidden.
