A Taste of Great Smoky Mountains

Great Smoky Mountains NP sits between Tennessee and North Carolina and has a large diversity of plants. I wavered between researching the area and being surprised by what I found and could photograph. Sometimes research leads to disappointment; other times, it leaves you more prepared and knowing what to look for. Since living on the edge is my motto, mostly by choice, but this time, because I did not have much time to research, I opted for the second choice.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge variety of plants and flowers, see lots of bears, and, my favorite part, see the budding hills in the distance. Of course, I would have loved more of the characteristic fog the Smokies are known for or to catch the dogwoods at their prime. This gives me a reason to come back and expand this gallery. I hope you enjoy a taste of the Smokies with these images.
